Why We Built This Site
Finding a Cochran County record depends first on custody. Lisa Smith serves as both County Clerk and District Clerk, but the two roles keep different case families. The countywide Justice Court and each municipal court retain their own files. We assemble official contacts, search limits, request steps, and Texas access rules so readers can route a question to the office that maintains the original docket.
What You Will Find Here
- Docket guides: how criminal and civil docket searches are routed in Cochran County
- Court dates: how to confirm a setting when no local public calendar is posted
- Case lookups: how cause numbers, court levels, and narrow statewide tools fit together
- Record requests: how to ask the proper clerk for plain or certified copies
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no connection to a Texas court, clerk, or government agency. Its limits are important:
- We cannot pull an official docket sheet or case file for anyone
- We cannot change, reschedule, or reset a court date or hearing setting
- We cannot remove, seal, or amend a case on any docket
- We cannot issue certified copies of any docket, order, or court document
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or setting listed on this site is current right now
Only the clerk of court or the trial court that heard the case can issue an official or certified copy of a docket sheet or court record. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
Search Partners
Some pages contain search boxes operated by outside providers. Those services control their results and prices. A paid signup may produce a referral fee that supports this resource, but we do not control the provider or its data. Verify all case facts with the Cochran County clerk or court holding the original record.
